Introduction to Canvas
New to Canvas? After an overview of Canvas environment and the global navigation options, you will explore the course navigation menu and individual components that are used to deliver content and assess student performance.  You will learn how to customize your course Home page, create Announcements, upload files, use the rich content editor to create content, adjust course settings and publish your course so it is available to students.  Prerequisites: Canvas username/password and completion of Modules 1-3 in the  Canvas Faculty Orientation course.   Instructor: Jane Tutein
Canvas Assignments and Grading
In Canvas, "Assignments" refer to any scored student work--online submitted assignments, unsubmitted activities, scored discussion, or even quizzes. In this session, you will learn how to create different types of assignments, group assignments to make grade weighting easier, and use the Gradebook and SpeedGrader to quickly score student work. Prerequisites: Introduction to Canvas workshop or prior experience with Canvas.                  Instructor: Jane Tutein
Google Drive and Google Docs: The Basics
Google Drive is the backbone of your Google experience, combining storage, access, sharing, and collaboration with the power of G Suite tools such as Google Docs.  During this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of Google Docs including formatting, working with different file types such as .docs and .pdfs, and using suggestions and comments to communicate with students and collaborators. You will also learn how to use Drive to manage and share your resources in a collaborative environment.   Instructor: Hedrick Ellis
Google Search: How to "Search Smart"
Most of us use Google Search every day. But are we using it as effectively as we could? Being able to ‘search smart’ can save us valuable time and give us access to the resources we really want. It is also a skill that we can share with our students. Smart searching not only opens up learning possibilities to students, but it is a highly-demanded skill in the modern workplace.We will cover the three 'search smart' basics: Choosing the right search terms, understanding search results and narrowing a search to get the best results. We will also explore recent updates to Google Search for mobile which includes Google Lens, a new image recognition tool.     Instructor: Hedrick Ellis
Storytelling with Maps using Google Tour Builder
Geographic settings are an important element in the stories of history, literature, art, film and the sciences as well as our personal experiences. In this workshop, we will work with Google Tour Builder, an interactive storytelling tool that connects people to places using Google Maps and multimedia content. Feel free to bring your personal digital photos and videos to create a tour or you can use the workshop files.      Instructor: Jane Tutein
New Google Sites: Collaborate and Share

Introduction to Canvas' New Gradebook
Attend this session for an introduction to Canvas’s New Gradebook which will be released to all courses during the Fall semester.  You will learn how to add the new Gradebook to your course  and use the new features including a Grade Detail tray, enhanced filter and sorting options, and late submission and grade posting policies.       Instructor: Jane Tutein
