EPCV Jamaica Domestic Grant Application
Friends of Jamaica Peace Corps Association (FOJPCA or FOJ) provides grants to a variety of projects, initiatives, activities, and events that attempt to improve the quality of life for people living in Jamaica and for Jamaicans in the diaspora. Our focus is on Jamaican public health, environment, education, culture, and sustainable community development.
FOJ is interested in helping you engage in the Peace Corps Third Goal: to help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. We are offering small grant opportunities to support you in introducing the people and culture of Jamaica to your home community. Think reggae hour on local radio, a Zoom slideshow with a classroom or a community cooking lesson.
• FOJPCA cannot make grants that promote political candidates, parties, or causes, nor to promote religious beliefs.
• FOJPCA cannot provide grants, scholarships, or loans to individuals.
• FOJPCA cannot make contributions directly to governmental entities; however, we will contribute to organizations that also receive funding from the government. Therefore schools and other government based community organizations can receive funding.
• FOJPCA cannot provide funds for administrative costs. This means that all funds donated must go directly to the project or activity, and may not be used for overheads, salaries, office supplies, or other general operating expenses. However, consumables directly related to the project may be funded, such as lunch for project volunteers.
Funding Amounts
Grants from FOJPCA have ranged from $50USD to $1,000USD; however, most projects are typically awarded $500USD. FOJPCA is not always able to provide the full amount requested.
