The Board of Education of the Desert Sands Unified School District is seeking qualified and interested individuals to serve on the DSUSD School Building Corporation (SBC). The District is currently seeking to fill two (2) vacancies on the SBC board.
Background and Purpose
The Desert Sands Unified School District School Building Corporation is a non-profit corporation organized under the General Non-Profit
Corporation Law of the State of California and was established in 1975.
The Corporation was organized primarily to render financial assistance to the
Desert Sands Unified School District by financing and constructing
public school buildings and facilities for the District. The directors of
the Corporation serve without compensation.
Board of Directors and Annual Meetings
The SBC is made up of 5 board of directors. The SBC is required to meet annually and review the audit of capital funds financed by the SBC. The SBC audit is separate from the District’s
audit.

Appointment of School Building Corporation Members
All appointments will be approved by the Board of Education.
Time Commitment and Term
Membership of any member shall terminate upon resignation or death of such members. Membership may also be terminated by the vote of majority of the SBC members.
Time commitment can vary but likely not exceed 2-3 hours per meeting and no more than 4 meetings per year.
