The Association for Recorded Sound Collections invites those who are new to the association, current student/recent graduate members, and ARSC veterans to participate in the ARSC Mentoring Program.
The Mentoring Program matches ARSC Newcomers (student, emerging, and ALL new members) with long-time members (Guides) based on their shared interests. Guides begin to provide Newcomers with an orientation to ARSC, its members and activities through email, phone, and/or virtual meetings leading up to the annual conference. Participants will be connected with a Guide during the week of April 22 in order for them to have several weeks to get to know each other via email, phone, or video call, so they will already have begun to form a rapport before the conference. There will be a Zoom meeting for all program participants to learn more about ARSC and socialize with one another in early May. The program is open to all Newcomers who did not participate in 2023. Only ARSC members who are committed to mentoring should volunteer as Guides.
All Guides and Newcomers should plan to attend the Mentoring Program Event on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM Central at the 58th Annual ARSC Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota. Please complete the form below by April 19, 2024 to register as a Guide or Newcomer.
