DSAGC Adult Weekend Retreat Camp Counselor Interest
Each camp season, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte hosts a Spring and Fall Adult Weekend Retreat at YMCA Camp Thunderbird at Lake Wylie. This camp is for individuals with Down syndrome ages 18+. This overnight camp is a long weekend of outdoor activities, team building, lots of walking, swimming (if warm enough), and a Dance Party. All campers and counselors sleep in cabins of 8. 
Male counselors are in high need (we need 4 male counselors) and then also 4-6 female counselors as well as a licensed nurse. This is a paid position (fundraised to support this camp need).
We rely on the support of the community to come on as counselors (3:1 camper to counselor ratio) to ensure the safety and engagement of the campers.  Counselors must be 18+, provide a resume, background check and complete a virtual interview.
