CALL FOR ROMANIAN PARTICIPANTS
Dear candidates,

SCIENCIVICUS – Active citizenship through science education is a Youth Exchange program funded by the European Union, in which you can have the chance to meet many young people from other European countries and debate about the topic of science and civics.

The Youth Exchange is organized and coordinated by Asociația Secular-Umanistă din România, a Romanian non-profit organization, established in 2010, that focuses on popularizing scientific education and critical thinking among the general public. Therefore, its main objective is to encourage and facilitate the dialogue between scientists and the public through conferences, debates, and informal activities to popularize science. At the same time, the association advocates for promoting science and culture, democratic political framework and active citizenship, humanistic ethical principles and secularism.

The idea that we would like to convey through this Youth Exchange is that there is a different way to regard active citizenship. We want to teach youngsters how to become informed and capable citizens by cultivating civic engagement and a scientific mindset.

SCIENCIVICUS will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from 3rd to 8th April 2022.

The selected venue will be NOD Makerspace and the accommodation place for the participants outside Romania will be First Hostel. For the Romanian participants no accommodation will be provided. Youngsters from Italy, Romania, Turkey and Malta will join the project.

Each national group will be composed of 7 people (6 participants + 1 group leader), for a total of 35 people joining SCIENCIVICUS. The Youth Exchange is open to Romanian participants from 16 to 30 years old.
