Typically, travel insurance costs between 5% and 7% of the trip’s cost, while trip protection is generally cheaper 1. Remember, though, that some companies bundle protection with traditional travel insurance, so it’s essential to review the fine print carefully when booking a cruise or receiving an offer to “protect” your trip
