This is a series of eight modules focused supporting language learning, particularly multilingual children Educators may choose one or more modules and receive a certificate after completion of each. The Orientation class must be taken first, before the remaining modules. All WIDA workshops are FREE and presented through Zoom beginning at 6:30pm. THE ORIENTATION MODULE MUST BE TAKEN BEFORE THE OTHER MODULES. If you have taken the WIDA Orientation Module, please list the date and the trainer's name.

Even if the families in your program are monolingual, this series focuses on all language learners and complements what you are already doing in your classroom. These classes have been getting great reviews from participants. Please check any of the modules of interest to you. THE ORIENTATION MODULE MUST BE TAKEN BEFORE THE OTHER MODULES.

November 16, 2023 6:30pm to 8:30pm WIDA Early Years Essential Actions 1 & 14 (1 CD/1 PRO) Essential Action 1 supports collaboration to ensure that all adults interacting with multilingual learners support multilingual development. Essential Action 14 provides for multiple and meaningful opportunities for multilingual learners to use their languages.

December 5, 2023 6:30pm to 9:30pm WIDA Early Years Essential Actions Orientation. (CD 2/PRO 1) The Orientation module is required before taking any other modules. This module provides the foundational knowledge about WIDA Early Years, asset-based approaches to instruction and the WIDA Early Years Guiding Principles.

December 14, 2023 6:30pm to 8:30pm WIDA Early Years Essential Actions 7 & 12 (COM 1/PRO 1) Essential Action 7: Connect language standards with early learning standards and guidelines to make curriculum accessible and meaningful for multilingual learners. Essential Action 12: Plan for language teaching and learning within specific areas of development and learning.

January 8, 2024 6:30pm to 9:30pm WIDA Early Years Essential Actions Orientation. (CD 2/PRO 1) The Orientation module is required before taking any other modules. This module provides the foundational knowledge about WIDA Early Years, asset-based approaches to instruction and the WIDA Early Years Guiding Principles.

January 18, 2024 WIDA Essential Actions 3 & 4 (CD 1 PRO 1) Essential Action 3: Recognize and use the strengths, resources and experiences of dual language learners and their families to support and enhance language development and learning. Essential Action 4: Gather, analyze, and reflect on information in order to focus on the developmental nature and unique characteristics of dual language learning.
