2023-2024 Roadtrip! Pan-Canadian Tour for emerging artists
The tour, set to run between September 2023 and June 2024 should count close to 35 performances, taking place across 10 provinces and territories. JM Canada, Prairie Debut, and Debut Atlantic seek submissions from high-calibre Canadian classical artists. Artists should submit a concert proposal through which they can communicate their love of music and engage audiences. Artists early in their professional career and as well as more established musicians are encouraged to apply. We encourage applications from those who reflect the diversity of our Canadian communities.

* Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents

** Contracts will be negotiated with each organization separately (JM Canada, Prairie Debut, and Debut Atlantic).
Choice of repertoire
The choice of repertoire (about 80 minutes of music) should focus on what the artists feel they do best, as well as on a specific kind of music or thematic idea that interests them. JM Canada, Prairie Debut and Debut Atlantic seek interesting, innovative and inclusive programs. We encourage thoughtful proposals aimed at connecting with diverse Canadian audiences. Inclusion of underrepresented and/or marginalized composers is recommended. At least one Canadian composition is required. Finally, it is important that the musicians speak to the audience during the concert, to introduce the works and their composers, to discuss the theme, and to engage the audience. This may be done in either French or English, depending on the venue.
Potential Candidates
Potential candidates are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. They must possess a solid background in classical music and must be comfortable speaking in public in both official languages, in a manner suitable for hosting their concert in an engaging style. One or more members of an ensemble must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable with highway driving.
Video Auditions
Auditions will now be held via videos. Please submit three (3) works of your proposed repertoire with an introduction, as if you were addressing an audience (in both official languages), made accessible via YouTube links. Maximum 20 minutes total. We recommend that all audition videos be high quality with excellent audio. Video shot, in landscape view, with a phone or a tablet is acceptable. Ideally shot from one angle with a single fixed camera, the audio component of the video must not be edited, enhanced or modified in any way.

You may submit one (1) YouTube link that includes three (3) works and an introduction in both official languages, or three (3) separate links with each piece and an introduction. Maximum 20 minutes total.
