Creating a Culturally Responsive Classroom through Children’s Literature Registration Form
Demonstrating to children that we see and value all aspects of them-including attributes of race and culture- is important to making them feel welcome in a classroom environment. Early childhood educators can use Race Related Teaching Practices (RRTPs) to create a culturally responsive classroom. This PD will discuss how to create a culturally responsive classroom by means of children’s literature so students of all backgrounds feel welcome and help build relationships across races as well as awareness of race-related injustices.
