K-Skill Builders: this program provides intervention and supplemental support to student learning. This program is based on teacher input/need and is available to kindergarten students during the school day. Volunteers would meet with students 1:1 for approximately 5 mins to play games that would build the skills they need support in. Training provided. Schedule varies depending on volunteer availability (typically 10AM-11AM).
Challenge Reading: this program provides additional literacy experiences in a group setting to interested students in grades 3 -5. Think of this as a reading club. Volunteers would lead the group. Training provided. This group would meet either before or after school for anywhere between 30-60 mins 1-2 times per week. Schedule to be determined based on volunteer availability, space availability, and teacher input. Commitment 4-6 weeks (TBD).
Math Plus: this program provides additional ongoing mathematical experiences through games and activities in a group setting for interested students K-5. Volunteers would lead the group. Training provided.
This group would meet during the lunch period 1 time per week. Volunteers can commit to 1, 2 , or 3 lunch periods/grades. (12:15 - 1:45PM - 4th grade lunch: 12:15-12:50PM, 5th grade lunch: 12:45-1:25PM, and/or 3rd grade lunch: 1:20-1:55PM) Schedule to be determined based on volunteer availability. Commitment 4-6 weeks (TBD).
