Strategic Return Preparations: Community Input
As we work through the various scenarios that could become our Fall return to school plan, we would like your input.  To be clear, this is not a survey through which you are selecting your preferred option of return.  Each return-to-school topic is a possibility we must consider based on the guidance we received from the NJDOE and the Governor's office.  While your specific input may not be used, all input will be considered.  To ensure the usefulness of your responses, we ask that you focus on solutions.  Its important to note that an undeniable outcome of this pandemic is a necessary shift toward the instructional practices promoted, supported, and developed by the district over the past decade.  This gives great confidence that we are well prepared to support your children in any learning environment. We acknowledge, however, that many needs will still be addressed.  Therefore, each of the 3 sections (plans) includes a question about what you believe your specific needs as a parent may be to better ensure a successful learning partnership between you and your child's school.  Lastly, each plan includes a question asking for your intention to send your child to school given the specific scenario. Your response to those questions is critically important.  We will use those responses to anticipate the number of on-site students, which will in turn allow us to anticipate the social distancing and hygiene needs, logistics, and operations of each school within each plan.  All plans will include a Howell Public Schools Virtual Academy for students who cannot return to the physical school.
