NMRC "Coach of the Year" Award Nominations
Coach/Mentor of the Year Nomination Form

The NMRC Coach/Mentor of the Year Award Program recognizes the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Mentor of
a participating team with in the Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference. This honor goes to an individual
whose actions, dedication, and selflessness to NMRC & FIRST team members directly resulted in student
success. Specific judging criterion is based upon how the coach/mentor inspired people in some or all the
following ways:

● Level of student participation in robotics program increased, numbers based or intensity based
● Efforts led to an increased opportunities for students
● Clear explanation, demonstration, or implantation of STEM concepts with students
● Demonstration of enthusiasm for Science and Engineering
● Encouragement to work on projects as a team
● Inspiration to use problem-solving skills
● Create increased awareness and growth of partnerships with in the school, community, region, or
state.

Coaches/Mentors are eligible to receive this award once every five years. If a coach/mentor moves to another
team the 5 year ineligibility window may be waved. Nomination forms must be completed in full and submitted
to the NMRC by May 15th. The Coach of the year Award will be given out at the NMRC Conference Tournament.
