In doing research for my PhD program, I've come across several studies that claim that fanfiction websites in general are 1) populated primarily by women, writing for other women, and are 2) repositories of LGBTQ+ / "Queer" stories, which frequently have no other place to go. My own impression of FimFiction is that our demographics are rather different, which might make for an interesting study. This survey is an attempt to get an idea of who is actually using this site of ours!

PLEASE NOTE: This is an informal survey, created for my own academic curiosity. If the results are interesting enough, I will create a more formalized follow-up survey. I will not collect any personal information on this survey. If I choose to release the results, I will only do so in aggregate, with no personally identifiable information attached to them at all.

To be clear: some of these questions may be slightly sensitive in nature. Again, I will not collect any personal information, so please feel free to answer honestly.
