Managing Emotions and Making Friends:

Do you find yourself wishing your family time was more harmonious, fun, and productive? Are your interactions with your child fraught with conflict, tension, and frustration? We can help!!

This social skill group is designed for children who will be entering grades 3rd – 6th and who struggle with managing intense emotions, following rules, directions, and expectations, making and maintaining positive friendships, finding solutions to issues and challenges and  accepting “No” for an answer.

Dates:    Wednesdays - June 7, 14, 21, 28 and July 5, 12

Time:               10:00 am - 11:00 am OR 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Power Up! Flexible Thinking Group for Kids:

Does your child struggle with transitions, flexible thinking, or problem solving? This group will help your child develop flexibility of thinking to problem solve in their daily life.  Children will learn to apply flexibility of thinking to generating a “Plan B” when “Plan A” doesn't work, skills for compromising, and the ability to identify a big deal/little deal and respond appropriately.  Each session will consist of 60 minutes with an additional 10 to15 minute video provided each week for parents to learn the concepts along with their child and at-home practice materials. 

This group is for children entering 3rd – 6th grade.

Dates:             Tuesdays - June 6, 13, 20, 27 and July 11, 18

Social Skills and Friendship Group: 

Does your pre-teen struggle with peer interaction, impulsivity, or problem solving in friendships? Are they worried about friendships in middle school? If so, this group can help! This group will meet weekly for 60 minutes and will help youth who are entering 6th – 8th grade focus on developing and practicing the following important skills that are essential to success in middle school: conversation starters and finding common interests with peers; conversational turn-taking; problem solving and conflict resolution; flexible thinking; navigating emotions and developing coping skills; communicating emotions with peers and adults.

Let’s Get Organized! Executive Functioning Skills Group: 

This weekly 60-minute group is for youth entering grades 6th – 9th and is designed to help prepare them for success during the school year. This group will focus on learning strategies to increase competence in the following skills areas: organization; time management;  prioritizing and planning; study strategies; goal setting; self-advocacy.

Circle of Friends for Girls:

Does your middle school daughter experience “girl drama” and want to learn strategies for dealing with it? If so, this is the group for her! This 90-minute group is for middle school girls who are entering 6th – 8th grade. Our focus will be on helping the girls identify, define, and recognize healthy versus unhealthy friendships. We will explore cyber bullying and how your daughter can protect herself from becoming a victim as well as standing up for others in a healthy, productive way. Your daughter will learn life-long skills that will increase self-esteem and self-advocacy.

From Chaos to Peace Parenting Group:

Do you sometimes wonder who is in charge of your family? Are you struggling to create a harmonious, engaging and fun relationship with your child or children?  This is the group for you if your child tends to do the following: resist following your directions; argue over small things; struggle to regulate their emotions; not follow through with responsibilities; demand their own way; or demonstrate other “challenging” behaviors.

Our parenting skills classes will teach, demonstrate, and offer guidance around overcoming the most common parenting pitfalls. You will learn strategies that work to encourage cooperation, communication, mutual respect, emotional regulation and problem-solving.

Let’s work together to create the family experience you have always hoped for!
