The Detroit Sugarbush project is lead by urban native peoples, Black to the Land and Friends of Rouge Park.
We need your to help at the Detroit Sugarbush. Updates about the sugarbush project and related stewardship work will be posted here.
Our sugarbush starts off in late January/early February and goes through March.
The rest of the year we're working on stewardship projects, trail building and helping restore the southern section of Rouge Park where the Sugarbush is located.
The "sugarbush" is a forested Rouge River flood valley, in the southern section of Rouge Park; South of Tireman and North of Warren, between Spinoza and Outer Drive.
Our base camp is located on a bluff, overlooking the flood valley, near the "loop" of Stone Bridge Trail.
