Survey on Visits to San Francisco Jails (for Family and Friend Visitors)
As the Sheriff’s Office prepares to restart in-person family and friend visits soon, we would like to hear your suggestions to make the visiting process work for you and your incarcerated loved one.

Please complete this survey only if you currently or previously have had a loved one incarcerated in San Francisco. This survey will be used to inform the Sheriff’s Office so that we can improve the visiting experience.

The Sheriff’s Office aims to restart visits in a way that keeps incarcerated people and their family members safe from COVID-19. The general visiting guidelines are:

- Visits will be 25 minutes long
- All visitors must show proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination received two weeks before the visit. Complete vaccination includes one booster if the visitor is eligible.
- Visitors must wear N-95 masks (masks will be provided if you do not bring one)
- Visits are limited to one adult visitor at a time
- During the pilot phase, visits will take place on holidays and weekdays in the late afternoon/early evening

This survey was developed in collaboration with the San Francisco Jail Justice Coalition and the Sheriff’s Office.

Participation in this survey is 100% anonymous and optional.
