Live Art Dance is a true jewel in the crown of Halifax’s cultural scene. For over 4 decades we have brought the best in Canadian and International dance to the city and are currently the leading presenter of contemporary dance in Atlantic Canada.

Our mandate is to deliver an annual contemporary dance series featuring diverse works from Canadian and international dance artists. Our vision is to be nationally recognized as the leading provider of, and advocate for, contemporary dance in Atlantic Canada. Locally we strive to be a catalyst for a vibrant and healthy dance ecology in Nova Scotia, and we are grateful to our Board members for helping us make it happen!
We are looking for new Board members who believe in the value of a vibrant cultural sector for a world class city like Halifax and who are interested in working within it. We need people who can help us expand our partnerships in the local business community, raise funds, and expand our audience. Any legal, finance, fundraising, event management, or human resources expertise would be an asset. We also hope you share our passion for dance - or are open to exploring the vibrant world of contemporary dance.

Our volunteer Board focuses on governance and fundraising, while our full-time staff are charged with determining artistic direction and managing day-to-day operations. Board members are expected to attend board meetings (one every other month), join a board committee, participate in fundraising efforts, attend our performances, and support our outreach events.
