The REALTOR® Foundation of Iowa (RFI) has a history of helping Iowans in need. To continue that tradition, the Foundation is now taking applications for Project Jack which influences children to help others and pay it forward.

Jack Lindaman was a spirited young boy who encouraged positivity and wanted everyone around to be happy. He passed away in 2010 at the age of six from SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) a genetic disorder that does not have a cure. With funds from his memorial, the Lindamans gave each child in Jack’s class (now in 6th grade) $100 to pay it forward in whatever way he or she chose. Projects ranged from donations to charitable organizations to passing out roses to strangers – but the possibilities are endless!

If your fourth or fifth grade class would like to participate, please fill out the short application below. There are only a few rules stated below on how $250 should be used. We ask that the project is documented and reported to the REALTOR® Foundation of Iowa to be shared with the public.

Teachers are encouraged to complete the online application as soon as possible. The available grant spots fill up quickly!

Teachers can fill out the short application first, discuss with their class, and email details later - anytime before Tuesday, January 11, 4:30 pm - info@projectjack.org.

Applications will include an area to describe the class project. Application details should be received by Tuesday, January 11, 4:30 pm.

Teachers will be notified by 4:30 pm on January 18 or earlier if their application is accepted.

There will be a wait list used to fund projects from areas that receive additional funds from local Realtor® organizations.

Checks will be processed and sent in early February.

Projects should be completed by April 15. If more time is needed due to uncontrollable factors such as weather, bus trips, and other items, this can be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Jack had amazing spirit and in his name we would like to continue helping others with the Project Jack.

Must be a pay-it-forward type of project benefiting an organization or Iowans in need

Must remain in Iowa. Out-of-state or international projects will not be accepted. Exception could include Iowans serving in the military or a Iowa towns on the border that might be serving Iowans and other in the adjacent state

This project cannot go toward equipment for schools such as sports equipment, uniforms or musical instruments
