This form is for people who want to volunteer to help us in some way, (welcoming, photography, blog posts, PR, sponsorship, or something we haven't thought of,  to  be Special Guests at Open Coffee Lisbon either to nominate themselves or someone as a guest host, 

It's a good idea to attend some meetings first if you want to be a special guest so you get a sense of what the meetings are like.  

A Guest Host has to bring something extra -  maybe they lead a community and bring extra attention and PR, they are an entrepreneur,  They should have some prior knowledge of hosting, or speaking.

We look for free venues, Co-working, Accelerators, Foundations or companies. Sometimes partners provide support but the idea of the meetup is to be low cost and high value.

Sometimes there is coffee and food thanks to sponsors but the main value is the participants.

The big idea is to provide a friendly, positive, welcoming, efficient and well run meeting where people who are already in business, or are interested in business or social entrepreneurship, and startups can both get the word out about their initiatives, or present their ideas, find other people to help them, or just give feedback, or find co founders, clients, suppliers    partners, attendees and volunteers.

Part of the "secret sauce" is the meeting design - which is participant focussed.

Everyone gets 1-2 minutes to say who they are what they do, what they are looking for and how they can help other people in the hosted part of the meeting from 9-10. led by a host (who makes sure the spot light is on the person speaking) The host also puts on a screen the details of the person or project being talked about.
At 10:00 the hosted meeting ends but participants can follow up one on one with those of most interest in the room.

This is highly efficient as in the first hour everyone gets to know what everyone else is up to.
