Our safety vests and trash bags are supplied by ARDOT.
Our goal is to have enough volunteers to send two teams to each side of the road so they can meet in the middle. This makes the clean up go faster and avoids the problem of missing any sections of road. Depending on turnout we will make adjustments before we begin.
Recommended Trash Team Supplies
- sturdy, comfortable shoes
- garden gloves
- sunscreen
- lip balm
Some grabbers to prevent repetitive stress injuries will be provided, but we may run out so if you have your own, please bring it! A limited amount of buckets will be available as well. Seasoned litter collectors may want their own additional supplies. Bring whatever makes litter clean up easiest for you!
Road Guardian Supplies
We would like to have four drivers, one for each side with each of our four Trash Teams as they clean toward each other. Drivers will help block the Trash Team from traffic. Your flashers should work properly and your car should be able to run for 2-3 hours as you follow your assigned team. Your job will be providing a first aid kit if needed, handing out bottled water, providing trash bags as the team works, and letting members of the Trash Team sit in your vehicle if they need to rest. Good music taste recommended but not required.
