The underrepresentation of women in administrative positions in sport is commonly seen as example of the “glass ceiling”. The lack of women holding leadership positions within the domain of athletic administration is not new to the global business world. The “glass ceiling” describes the invisible, but very prevalent, roadblocks that limit the progression of women within the workplace. The “glass ceiling”describes how discrimination increases as people ascend in the administrative hierarchy.
