Bridges Academy Application
Bridges Academy seeks high school juniors of diverse backgrounds to commit to and participate in a year long course whose goal is to discuss issues of equity and cultural awareness.  Students must be willing to be open and transparent and have a willingness to learn from and trust other students that may have different experiences.    Students cannot miss more than 2 sessions per semester or they will be dismissed from the program.  Students will also be eligible to use the sessions as community service/volunteer hours.

Essay
Bridges Academy is one that is going to tackle sensitive topics and issues.  There will be challenging conversations that will require deep levels of honesty, self-reflection, and transparency.  Racism is an unfortunate part of our history and present society.  However, we are working to change things and present new thoughts and ideas on how we can do so together.  You much consider yourself to be a "change agent" to be a part of the Bridges Program.  Please lend a thoughtful, yet detailed response below.
