Scientific Minds of America Tutoring- Middle School
We are a group of high school students who lead the Scientific Minds of America (SMOA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since our founding in 2015, we’ve run programs that teach robotics, computer programming, and hands-on science. In 2020, our organization noticed that the pandemic disrupted in-school education, and many students lacked the resources to continue their education effectively in quarantine. Therefore, our personalized, free, virtual tutoring services began with a simple idea: connecting committed high-school scholars with elementary and middle school students to supplement their education during this unprecedented time. As part of SMOA’s online tutoring program, over the past year, our 200+ high school tutors have helped 250+ students in English, math, science, and social studies (but we are open to other subjects as well).
