We’ve all heard the phrase, “chivalry isn’t dead, it’s a lesbian”---and we here at Sapphic Writers are excited to be doing our part to keep it alive and vibrant in our upcoming zine, INSERT NAME. In this issue, we’re looking for pieces that reimagine and subvert heteronormative tropes for sapphic purposes. And yes, we’re especially interested in that much-maligned, seductive and dangerous, somehow never quite dead, notion of chivalry that has morphed over centuries to maintain its place at the heart of all our romance tropes. What can we salvage from the rusting (but still intact!) armor of the patriarchy?

We want your chaotic dyke Don Quixotes, your gay jock/cheerleader love stories, your Lesbian Avenger knights, your reinvented sapphic myths & fairy tales & rom coms & damsels & all the small moments when the butches in your lives have played the gallant gentleman better than any man could have.
