Manufacturing Scholarship

Your signature on this application is evidence you wish to attend Sauk Valley Community College or Morrison Institute of Technology to pursue a career in the area of manufacturing.

All applicants must be current residents or students in the Sauk Valley area. This scholarship is open to students who are current seniors in a WACC high school, a current student at SVCC or MIT, or a current resident of the Sauk Valley area who will be attending SVCC or MIT. This application is for a one-year, $500.00 scholarship.

Individuals may apply for this scholarship more than once; however, a student can only receive the scholarship twice.

You must complete this application and email two letters of recommendation and a current photograph to the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce at knoble@saukvalleyareachamber.com before April 1 of the year you expect to graduate from high school. Optionally, you may submit a transcript complete with ACT score, seventh semester class standing and grade point average via email. Failure to email your materials by April 1 will be cause for rejection of the application.

Notification of scholarship winners will be made on or before May 31. Upon notification of receipt of the Manufacturing scholarship you will be asked to provide a copy of your fall class schedule to the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce office at 211 Locust St., Sterling, IL 61081.

We, the undersigned, agree to allow permission for the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce to obtain confidential student records from the pertaining school
system.

We understand and acknowledge that the scholarship to be awarded, if any, shall be awarded at the sole discretion of the selection committee considering all materials submitted by the applicant. Consideration shall be given to scholarship, extracurricular activities, career aspirations, religious and community activities, and such factors as the selection committee deems appropriate. No one factor shall be the determining factor in awarding of the scholarship; the consensus of the selection committee shall be the ultimate criteria for the awarding of the scholarship. The committee reserves the right to not award any scholarships.

The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to publish the name, school and photograph of scholarship recipient. This could include, but is not limited to, SVACC publications, website or in local media.
