Christians of Claremont
Many believe that Christianity is nothing more than a set of rules to be followed, that faith is interchangeable with blind faith. These misconstructions ultimately diminish the heart of our religion—that our faith is our relationship with God, and that it is personal and loving and real. Faith is not a list of rules; faith is nebulous, it is ever changing, and it looks different for every person.

hearhere is launching “Christians of Claremont,” a new project inspired by photographer Brandon Stanton’s photoblog, “Humans of New York.” This project will feature the stories of Christians across the 5Cs, highlighting the unique and profound stories that Christian students, faculty, and staff share with the Christian God. Our goal is to showcase unseen glimpses and snapshots of God’s love and goodness in the day-to-day of 5C Christians from all walks of life.

If you are interested in being featured on our social media pages please fill out this form; we will be accepting submissions continuously throughout the year. While we cannot guarantee that everyone who sends in this form will be interviewed, we encourage everyone interested to apply, as we would love to hear everyone’s answers. If you are contacted by us, please reply within 24 hours to confirm your interest. We will require a short, written blurb from you (about 300 words) in response to the prompts we will provide you with, or any story you would like to share with us from your faith journey. Tell us anything!

It is also important to note that this project will emulate its original, “Humans of New York,” quite closely, including stylistically. We will not change your words from their original meaning or intention, but keep in mind that our editors may change the structures of your sentences to imitate that of HONY. For references, please view @humansofnewyork on Instagram or Facebook, and if this poses an issue for you, please contact us and we will be happy to work out an alternative. Additionally, if you would prefer to meet with us through an in person conversation instead of sending a written piece, or have any other questions, our “Christians of Claremont” head, Aanji Sin, is always available by text at (626)-922-0940. Thank you for expressing interest in “Christians of Claremont,” and we look forward to hearing your stories!
