Transportation Policy
Students who register for events through Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) are responsible for providing their own transportation. The Service-Learning Coordinator(s) responsible for Service in Action events at CPCC will provide transportation options for students who register for these events, when possible. It is the student’s responsibility to request a space in the van upon registration of the Service in Action event. There are only 6 spaces in the van, and these seats are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is the students’ responsibility to find their own transportation to and from CPCC Central campus, and the van will take them from CPCC to the service site and back to CPCC.  The van departs 15 minutes before the scheduled time for each event and immediately leaves the service site upon completion. Students providing their own transportation to the service sites are responsible for their transportation home upon completion of the event. CPCC staff will not stay with students participating in service projects after the service project ends; each student is responsible for their own health and safety prior to, during, and at the completion of each Service in Action project. Central Piedmont Community College and the Office of Service-Learning does not accept liability or responsibility for any student participating in Service-Learning opportunities.
