8th Grade Cedar Point Trip Notification Letter - June 7, 2019
Dear Parents of Eighth Grade Students:
The eighth grade class will be going to Cedar Point on Friday, June 7, 2019. Students will depart OFMS at 8:45 AM and will return to OFMS by 8:00 PM. This trip is a reward trip for the students’ hard work in the areas of academics and behavior. Those students who remain at the middle school on June 7 will be given a variety of activities to complete.

Unfortunately, not all students will qualify to participate in the field trip.  Students that earn six (6) points on our discipline system from April 3 through June 7, or whose behavior and academic efforts do not meet expectations, will not be allowed to attend. The following timeline will be followed regarding academic expectations:

1. Wednesday, May 29, 2019   – Phone calls to parents by a teacher will be made if students are failing two or more subjects or are in danger of failing two or more subjects.  If students are still failing two subjects on June 5, they will not be able to go to Cedar Point.

2. Wednesday, June 5, 2019  – Phone calls will be made to parents by a teacher of students who will not be going to Cedar Point. because they are failing two or more subjects.

Mr. Sislowski will call parents when students have earned 6 or more points.

During the week of May 13-17 students will be selecting their Cedar Point partners using a Google form. Students should select someone who is interested in riding the same rides.  In other words, riders should partner up with other riders, and non-riders should stick together.  Partners may be in groups of 2 or 3. Partners must be of the same gender. Students may hang out in larger partner groups while at Cedar Point. However, students must always be with at least one partner while at Cedar Point.

Students will not be permitted to ride any of the water rides and should not bring bathing suits.  Students are permitted to bring their cell phones on this trip.  We would like the students' cell phone numbers in the event we would need to contact them during the day while at Cedar Point.

Payment must be received no later than Monday, May 17, 2019.  The cost of the trip will be $38.00 for the park admission. All students must bring money to purchase their own food in the park. Payments of cash and check (payable to OFMS) may be made in the Main Office. You may pay the $38.00 with a credit card by clicking this link -https://www.spsezpay.com/Olmsted/ezpay/Login.aspx

If a student has a season pass to Cedar Point, then he/she does not need to pay the $38.00. Please indicate below if your child either has a pass our will be purchasing a pass for Cedar Point for the trip on May 17, 2019.

Students are required to ride the school bus to and from Cedar Point from OFMS. Students are not permitted to remain at the park as this is a school-sponsored field trip. Parents who need to pick up their child early need to contact Mr. Kurz at mkurz@ofcs.net to make arrangements.
