LCS Transportation Survey
PLEASE COMPLETE THIS SURVEY IF YOU ARE REQUESTING BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR.
LCS continues to plan for a successful 2020-2021 school year. As of Thursday, August 6th, the district is still planning to offer all day, everyday in-person instruction for elementary students. Students in grades 6-12 will be given an option to receive instruction in-person two days a week (A-K on Mondays and Thursdays and Students with last names L-Z on Tuesdays and Fridays). We realize due to COVID19 more families may wish to transport their own children and are asking families to request transportation for the upcoming school year.
Madison County Public Health has given school districts the following requirements:
- Encourage parents to individually transport their children/household to school and avoid carpooling.
- No more than 2 students per seat on a school bus.
- Cloth facial coverings are required for staff and students on a bus.
- Open bus windows as much as possible while transporting students making every effort to mix as much outside air into the bus while working to maintain a reasonably comfortable interior environment.
All district transportation procedures will still be in effect. Slight modifications for this year include:
1. Students must ride the same route to and from the same location Monday - Friday.
2. Requests to transport students to child care will be considered if there is availability on the bus. Space must be reserved for students who live on the route.
3. Transportation for open enrollment students will be provided if feasible but is directly dependent on availability within each bus route.
Bus Drivers will begin contacting parents beginning August 19th, 2020 in order to notify parents of stops and times. Parents are greatly encouraged to have their Final Forms completed as soon as possible. This information will be used for contacting parents.
PLEASE SUBMIT ONE RESPONSE PER STUDENT IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD. ALL FAMILY REQUESTS MUST BE MADE BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 14TH, 2020.
