Public Comments for the TES Board 

Policy for Public Comments for The Expedition School Board:

Revised and Approved 12/15/22

The purpose of public comment is an opportunity for members of the public to inform the board of directors about their views regarding school issues. The meeting itself belongs to the board of directors. The public does not participate in the decision-making. Instead, the public provides input to the board of directors, who take the input into consideration in making decisions.

  • Those wishing to make a comment must submit the comment in writing at least 24 hours prior to the board meeting using the comments submission form. (below)

  • The comment must not exceed 2000 characters 

  • Comments must comply with the school’s bullying prevention and harassment policies.

  • Comments should not include personally identifiable information of students in order to maintain confidentiality.

    • Specific issues about a particular student should be addressed to the school’s director rather than the Board.

  • Provide your name and grade level of any children in the school.

  • The board will not respond directly to comments.

  • The board will review comments prior to the board meeting. 

  • The board minutes will record the names of individuals submitting comments.
