FCCNY Virtual Poetry Sharing and Reading
Thank you for your interest in participating in FCCNY's Virtual Poetry Sharing and Reading!

About the event:

The current pandemic has changed many of our lives for worse, making us feel disconnected, isolated, and mentally and emotionally drained. In spite of the many obstacles the pandemic has brought upon us, many artists have continued to thrive and create tremendous works of art. In respect and admiration for the art community and April being National Poetry Month, NYC Social/Casual Events Committee is hosting the FCCNY Virtual Poetry Sharing and Reading, which will provide YA Chinese adoptees 18+ the space to showcase poems they have created during or in response to the pandemic in a laid-back, non-academic setting. We ask each participant to present one self-written poem or one portion of a self-written poem they have created since the start of the pandemic, and explain how or why their poem was created. Participants can also share unfinished poems that are still in working progress. Our objective is to make sure every participant gets an opportunity to share and talk about their poems, and then have time for more questions/discussions as well. Therefore, we may split up into breakout rooms or keep everyone together, depending on how many people attend this event. We ensure that all participants will receive an equal amount of time for their presentations. This event will be held on April 7th at 8pm EST on Zoom. We welcome Chinese Adoptee artists 18+ to attend!

If you wish to present your poem, please fill out the following form along with RSVPing to the event on our website at fccny.org.  This allows us to know how many people want to present and how to give everyone enough time to share. If you would like to just listen and not share a poem, that is okay too!  Just RSVP on our website at fccny.org.
