The Eccles Organ Festival is sponsoring a Master Class on the iconic 1948 Æolian-Skinner Organ of the Salt Lake Tabernacle. The master class is made possible thanks to the funding of the Salt Lake City Chapter of The American Guild of Organists and the hospitality of The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Master Class will be led by Tom Winpenny, Assistant Master of the Music at St Albans Cathedral, UK, and internationally acclaimed concert organist and recording artist.

All interested, organists or not, regardless of age and student status are invited to attend this unique educational event as an observer. However, organists who wish take part as performers the masterclass are required to apply following the three simple steps below.

1. Select your Repertoire. The Masterclass will not focus on particular authors or eras, then no specific repertoire is required and applicants are welcome to submit their favorite repertoire.

Please submit a selection of at most 4 major works – or movements from a larger works – from different eras. Each piece should not exceed 12 minutes in length.

Please submit your program in the following format:
Title, Author, Dates, Approximate performance duration
Example: Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750, 9 minutes

2. Supporting Material. Please submit your supporting documentation as Web Links (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)

Include web links to:

a) at least one audio or video recording of one of the works you would like to perform. No professional recording is required; a simple audio recording with a smartphone on a practice organ will be sufficient.

b) (for students only) at least one letter of recommendation or reference
