Welcome to VBC 2024! This year, Markham Chinese Baptist Church will have VBC for children finished JK- finished Grade 8 (as of July 2024). This year we will run our very first LIT (leaders-in-training) program, created to train our youth (grade 7 and 8) and equip them with leadership and life skills, while giving them practical, hands-on leadership experience with our younger campers. Our theme for camp this year is Breaker Rock Beach, where we will be learning about God's rock-solid truth in a world of shifting sands.
This year, VBC will be a FOUR week camp from Mon-Fri, July 8-Aug 2, 2024, from 9:00am-4:00pm, with optional before (8am-9am) and after care (4pm-6pm) for additional fees. You will have the option to register your child for Weeks 1-2 (Jul 8-19), Weeks 3-4 (Jul 22-Aug 2), or all four weeks (Jul 8-Aug 2).
The lessons and activities will differ every week of camp. There are no single week options, and there is no option to attend only the middle two weeks or the first and fourth weeks.
Registration will open up on Sunday, Feb 11, for non-church families. It will open up for MCBC families on Sunday, Feb 25, and if we still have space available, we will start accepting applications from families from other churches starting March 11. Upon successful registration, within a week, an email will be sent out regarding camp payment.
If you register prior to your allotted registration date arrives, out of respect for those who waited for their allotted date, we will put your registration on hold until the day after your registration date arrives.
Grade 7-8 (LIT) Registration
Registration will open up on Sun, Feb 11 for all MCBC families. As we seek to empower our own church's youth and train them to be leaders at our church, this section of camp is primarily for our church's Grade 7-8's. Should we still have space, we will open up registration for youth from other churches on March 11, and we will take these campers in on a case-by-case basis.
CAMP FEE:

For campers joining us for either Weeks 1-2 (Jul 8-19) or Weeks 3-4 (Jul 22-Aug 2), the cost is $300 total for the two weeks.
For campers joining us for all four weeks (Jul 8-Aug 2), the cost is $550 for all four weeks.
This fee will provide your child with the materials they'll need for all their camp activities, 2 camp T-shirts, 1 field trip every other week (total of 2 if you register for all 4 weeks), and a pizza lunch each week. If you choose to withdraw your application prior to camp but after payment or require any other refunds, we will provide you with a refund, but a $30 admin fee will apply. There will be no refunds after May 31, 2024.
Upon payment of the camp fee, your child's spot at camp will be secured.
Before care (8am-9am)
The cost for each week's before care is $25, or $10.00 if paying per day.
After Care (4pm-6pm)
The cost for each week's after care is $50, or $15.00 if paying per day.
