Healthy School Food Pathway Apprenticeship Application 

The Healthy School Food Pathways paid work-based learning program aims to prepare individuals for job opportunities in healthy, scratch-cook school food programs. If you have an interest in cooking, food service management, and/or serving your community, this is the program for you. 

Applications must be filled out completely. If you have successfully completed the Healthy School Food Pathways Pre-Apprenticeship program you are guaranteed an interview for the Apprenticeship program. However, this does not guarantee a spot in the program. The deadline is December 12, 2022.

Key Dates:

  • Application deadline: December 12, 2022
  • Program start date: January 17th
  • The program will run 4.5 months each semester (Mid-January thru May and mid-August thru December)

All information in this application will be used by Chef Ann Foundation staff to better understand each potential apprentice's abilities, situation, and needs. Information will be kept confidential and will not be shared beyond work sites (K-12 districts) and the employer of record (Career Catalyst). Key Program Components
I understand that I am expected to participate in these program components to the best of my ability in order to achieve a strong understanding of key learning objectives. The Apprenticeship program takes place over the course of ~9 months. *
  • 7 School Food Institute courses: 35 hours (7 hours pre-read, 7 hours homework, 21 hours online learning)
  • Institute of Child Nutrition (ICN) Courses: 64 hours
  • 18 virtual learning sessions: 45 hours (1 hour pre-read, 1 hour session, 0.5 hours homework)
  • On-the-job learning: 24 hours a week
