Affiliation Information
Cost to affiliate
with MeHJA is $35.
Please send a check for $35 x number of shows affiliating, along with proof of insurance, to Meg Fox, MeHJA Secretary, PO Box 309, North Berwick, ME, 03906. You can also send payment to MeHJA through PayPal (please add show name and dates in notes), and email proof of insurance. Email address: mainehjassn@gmail.com.
Affiliated shows must provide proof of insurance
in the amount of $1,000,000 General Liability which includes spectators on or about the grounds and must name MeHJA as an additional insured.
A copy of the prize list
for each show must be sent to MeHJA a minimum of 30 days
before the show for review and approval. Failure to send prize list may result in cancellation of affiliation for that show.
Show results must be provided to MeHJA within 14 days after the show
. These results must be in the form of MeHJA class cards (paper copies can be mailed, scanned copies can be emailed), or you must fill out the MeHJA Show Result Reporting document. No results will be accepted by other means. Failure to submit results timely and using MeHJA forms will result in fines and ineligibility to affiliate future shows with MeHJA, and any current shows already affiliated will lose affiliation.
MeHJA strongly encourages shows to have a steward and/or veterinarian on the show grounds to address any protests or concerns about animal welfare. Show manager is required to notify MeHJA of any protests made, and/or decisions by the judge, steward, or veterinarian to remove horse or pony from competition.
