Welcome to Maui Prep's Upper School! With a few exceptions, the course line-up for freshmen is pretty standard. Please refer to the Maui Prep website in early June for a list of textbooks that corresponds to the below courses. 9th-11th grade students are required to be enrolled in six (6) courses at all times. This includes 7AM band and any online course.
9th and 10th grade build the strong foundation upon which you will begin to focus on areas of interest in your 11th and 12th grade years. Freshmen year is the time to begin to build a map of your next four years of high school. In order to graduate four years from now, you must take 4.0 English credits, 3.0 math credits, 3.0 science credits, 3.0 history credits, 3.0 world language credits, 0.5 technology credits, 1.0 art credits, as well as a variety of other classes and electives. These totals represent the minimum to graduate from Maui Prep, they DO NOT represent what you need to gain acceptance into your desired college program. Now is the time to begin to get to know your college counselor, Mr. Reader (
kreader@mauiprep.org), he will help you as you plan out your academic path.
