About the event

Organized by the Liszt Institute New York up-and-coming Hungarian painter Orsolya Áder’s first solo exhibition in New York titled 'Expressive Vision' will take place on December 8, 2023 from 6PM at the Gallery MC. The young artist presents an exciting array of abstract paintings, which reflect the science of the ’Divine Ratio’ and revolve around the idea of the spatial play of the three dimensions.

„. I have never been good with words. My works speak for me, they express my thoughts and my feelings, which I cannot express in words.” – Orsolya Áder

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Orsolya Áder has always been intrigued by art. It has been a decisive element for her since she was a child and has helped her to find her place in the world. When a work of art, something new, is created with passion, it provides her with unparalleled joy. All her creations are part of her personality. They always tell a story, no matter whether loud or quiet.

She first experienced the excitement of creation at the age of twelve when she met Rita Szőllősi, a jewellery designer. She taught her how to realize her ideas. As Orsolya mastered the basics of the craft of making jewellery, she learned to be brave to create something new. It has always been very important to her to create something that does not yet exist. A few years later, Rita took her to the Christmas exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts, where she managed to sell several pieces of my jewellery. That was a special experience for me as a child.

Soon after, Orsolya moved to Brussels, where she resumed her high school studies. The new environment enriched her with new experiences. Orsolya Áder got so many impressions at once that she had to release it somehow; that is how she started painting. As early as at the age of 15, she was most interested in the abstract painting style, which she found really rewarding. By making the images non-figurative, they appear more mysterious, yet at the same time more honest. When she looks at abstract paintings, they affect her much more strongly than any other style. These artworks communicate in the sincerest manner, while telling their stories in a concealed way.
