Social Prescribing Survey
Dear VCSE Sector colleague,
You may have heard about social prescribing. This initiative is supported and funded by NHS England to enable Link Workers to be recruited to work with GP Practice patients who may need support to help them with the various ‘social’ issues that may affect their health and wellbeing. This could be anything from someone needing information and advice on debt issues to how to engage with social activities so that they are more connected and not lonely and isolated. There is more information here: https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/publications/social-prescribing

Link Workers are sometimes known by other titles, such as ‘Community Navigators’, but essentially, they perform the same role. We have social prescribing services and Link Workers across Oxfordshire GP Practices that are already helping many patients, and working together with our partners, we are producing a strategy to ensure that social prescribing is fit for purpose and sustainable into the future.

As a voluntary sector organisation that may have supported some of those patients (or may do so in the future) we would like to ask if you would kindly complete our brief survey to help with the strategy. This can be done anonymously, or you may add your organisation or group name if you wish. It would help us if you could indicate which area of the county that you work in and cover and also what age group of people generally access your service.

This survey will go out widely via OCVA and also Healthwatch Oxfordshire. The survey results will be returned to Maggie James at NHS Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, who is drafting the social prescribing strategy. Any answers and comments will be kept anonymous in the strategy where this has been requested. Once the final draft of the strategy has been written and approved, all surveys will be deleted/ destroyed
