UNITWIN International Graduate Research Seminar: Presenter Proposal Form
Dear Graduate Students,

We invite graduate (and recently graduated) students to submit a presentation proposal for an arts education research seminar. The second annual International Graduate Research Seminar of the Arts Education Research for Cultural Diversity and Sustainable Development UNITWIN (“UNITWIN International Graduate Research Seminar” for short) will be held on June 22nd, 2021. The purpose of this virtual online meeting is to allow graduate students from around the world to share and discuss their arts education research and engage in helpful dialogue.

The seminar, hosted by the UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning at Queen’s University, Canada, will take place via Zoom (https://zoom.us). Each student will have ten minutes to present their work. We are open to formal, informal, and alternative presentation formats. For instance, you might choose to formally present your research using PowerPoint slides; informally describe your work (no visuals needed); or present your research using arts-based approaches (e.g., show/perform an artwork based on your research and invite discussion around the work). Other formats are possible as well. Our hope is that students will choose a format that works for them.

In terms of content, presentations should focus on dissertation, thesis, or project-based research. Students may describe their research at any stage (i.e., the research does not have to be completed).

If you are interested in participating, please submit this proposal form by May 24th, 2021.

Presenters will be informed of their acceptance by June 4th, 2021.

If you have any questions, they may be directed to seminar committee chair, Tiina Kukkonen, at t.kukkonen@queensu.ca or Dr. Benjamin Bolden, UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning at Queen’s University, at ben.bolden@queensu.ca

Thank you,

Tiina Kukkonen
Seminar Committee Chair
