Fall 2021 Sadat Book Chats
The Sadat Book Chat is a book conversation series hosted by the Sadat Chair in order to showcase publications by the department's faculty, and occasionally others, and to generate a broader conversation.
Our first Sadat Book Chat of the semester, we will be hosting Professor Chryl Laird for a chat on her co-authored award-winning book with Ismail K. White, Steadfast Democrats: How Social Forces Shape Black Political Behavior. This chat will take place at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 15th. Also in September, we will host Professor Shay Hazkani from the department of History and Jewish Studies at UMD to discuss his new book Dear Palestine: A Social History of the 1948 War. This chat will take place at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 29th.

All of the chats will take place in a hybrid format. The in-person event will be held in 2113 Chincoteague Hall. Boxed lunch will be provided to all those who RSVP for in-person. The zoom link for all those joining virtually will be sent out closer to the date of the events.

Roasted Vegetable Salad with Chicken: Beets, squash, Brussels sprouts, red peppers, basil, rocket greens, kale, sunflower seeds, pecans, dried apricots in our house-made champagne vinaigrette with Chicken

Greek Salad with Salmon: Romaine lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, feta cheese, oregano, olives, and feta dressing with Salmon.

Vegan Roasted Vegetable Salad: Beets, squash, Brussels sprouts, red peppers, basil, rocket greens, kale, sunflower seeds, pecans, dried apricots in our house-made champagne vinaigrette.
