Read and accept volunteer agreement
Volunteers are an important and valued part of Masjid Al-Huda (AHMCC), and we hope you enjoy volunteering with us.
This Volunteer Agreement describes the arrangement between us (AHMCC) and you (volunteer) in relation to your voluntary work. We wish to assure you of our appreciation of your volunteering with us and hope you find your experience with us enjoyable and rewarding.
Your role as a volunteer is (_1_) and starts on (_2_). Your supervising person is (_3_) who will also be your point of contact whilst volunteering.
To make sure you have the best possible experience
we commit to providing you with:
• A written role description so you understand your role and the tasks you are authorized to perform
• Encouragement and support for you to achieve and maintain the standards we expect
• A full induction and any training necessary for your role
• A supervisor who can support you, and to whom you can ask questions and get feedback
• Reimbursement for any agreed out-of-pocket expenses as a result of volunteering for us
• A safe environment in which to perform your role
• The opportunity to resolve fairly any issues or concerns you may have whilst you volunteer with us before they become problems.
We ask that you:
• Provide references and agree to appropriate checks as required
• Understand and comply with our policies and procedures
• Participate in all relevant induction and training courses
• Work as agreed to your volunteer role description
• Notify your supervisor of any health and safety issues or situations that may pose a risk to you or others. Take all necessary precautions during the course of volunteering. Remember your safety first.
• Behave appropriately and courteously to others in the course of your role
• Meet time and other commitments as agreed, but when unable to do so give reasonable notice so that other arrangements can be made
• Return any loaned equipment when ending your volunteering with us
• In the course of volunteering you may come across personal information of the members, you oblige to not disclose that information without written consent of AHMCC.
Please be mindful that AHMCC holds Quran and Sunnah as its source of core values. Any deviation to the mission statement may result in ending your volunteering activities. Per Quran and Sunnah, we cannot tolerate any racial slurs, cultural and ethnic insensitivity.
I understand that I will not be entitled to any compensated.
This agreement is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us and may be stopped at any time by either party.
Release and Waiver of Liability
1. Waiver and Release. Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless AHMCC and its successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from Volunteer's work for AHMCC. Volunteer understands and acknowledges that this Release discharges AHMCC from any liability or claim that the Volunteer may have against AHMCC with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from Volunteer's work for AHMCC, whether caused by the negligence of AHMCC or its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, or otherwise. Volunteer also understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by AHMCC in writing, AHMCC does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical , health, or disability insurance, in the event of injury or illness.
2. Medical Treatment. Except as otherwise agreed to by AHMCC in writing, Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless AHMCC and its successors and assigns from any and all liability or claims which arise or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection with Volunteer's work for AHMCC.
3. Insurance. The Volunteer understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by AHMCC in writing; AHMCC does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for any Volunteer. Each volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage.
4. Photographic Release. Volunteer does hereby grant and convey unto AHMCC all rights, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by AHMCC during the Volunteer's work for AHMCC, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings. For the duration of service, the Volunteer hereby grants to AHMCC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual (for the duration of the applicable copyright) license to reproduce any photograph(s), to incorporate the photograph(s) into one or more Collective Works (including but not limited to the AHMCC Update e-newsletter, AHMCC’s website, and any other media or publications as the AHMCC deems appropriate), and to reproduce the photograph(s) as incorporated in the Collective Works. This includes photographs taken by AHMCC staff members during any event or activity at which the Volunteer is present or photographs submitted by the Volunteer.
