TUSTEM Leader Application Form in Spring 2024
[What is TUSTEM]
Many outstanding STEM students including Science Olympics medalists from the globe study at Tohoku University. However, because of the overwhelming amount of coursework and lab work, interactions among STEM students are regrettably not active. TUSTEM is the international exchange student organization which aims to enhance interactions among the STEM student community (Tohoku University STEM Student Network).
   
[Activities]
Organizing and facilitating activities/events, such as
- Weekly Dinner & Language Exchange [at 18:30-20:00 at Aobayama Commons] 
     enjoy casual chatting with dinner
- Monthly Academic Dinner
     present your research in English under casual atmosphere
- Weekend Activity (Once a month)
    make friends in both social and academic events
    Social events: Potluck party, Barbecue, Fireworks, Picnic, IMONI, Trip to Zao, etc.
    Academic events: e.g., Coffee with a professional, like Carl Wieman (a novel prize winner) from Stanford

[Job Description of TUSTEM Leader]
- Prepare and organize activities/events
    We organize(plan) activities/events to promote interactions among TUSTEM students   
- Help university's events and programs for international students, etc.*
   e.g. Assisting the pre-enrollment education for FGL prospective students, final presentation sessions by international students, summer schools, etc.

[Requirements for TUSTEM Leader]
   No specific skill is required to become a TUSTEM leader. However, you must have a motivation and show a commitment and responsibility for the leader's job.
   e.g. Attending meetings and events, and be responsive promptly to TUSTEM leader's SNS

[Interview Time & Dates]
Late afternoon (2-4 pm) on February 8

*: A TUSTEM leader will be hired as an Administrative Assistant (AA) of Tohoku University and your assistance as a leader in a university event/program will be paid on an hourly basis.

These are the employment conditions as an AA.

[Employment Duration]
2024/4/1-2024/9/30 (The employment contract would be renewed every semester when necessary.)

[Salary]
 940 - 1100 yen/hour (According to your academic year) as of January 22, 2024
