About the Program:
The Internship in Building Community (IBC) is a professional development internship providing wide-ranging skill development, contributing to the intern's readiness for the contemporary workplace. The Internship in Building Community is ideal for growth-oriented, creative college and grad students who are interested in collaborating with others to help shape and support Columbia University’s High School Immersion Program.

Founded in 1986, Columbia University's Programs for High School Students is open to students entering grades 9 through 12 and freshman year of college. During the midday break and after class, students participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including college preparedness programming, community outreach and awareness activities, and special lectures. IBC interns serve as mentors and coordinate student activities and programming.

Recommendation Instructions:
Recommenders should complete this form to the best of their ability and submit no later than February 28, 2022 at 11:59 pm. You do not need to submit a separate recommendation letter. Your recommendation will help us select the highest quality applicants for this program.
