Welcome to our new Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC) initiative called the "Adventure Club".
Each term students will have the opportunity to participate in a EOTC activity around our local area. The aim of the initiative is:
- To develop personal and social skills.
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the need to protect and care for the environment.
- To develop safe practice in the outdoors.
- To develop resilience, courage and perseverance.
The Sherwood Adventure Club will take place every Thursday afternoon between 12.30pm - 3.00pm* with a different group of 8 students each week. Groups will go kayaking with the plan of paddling to Winstone's Cove. Participation is completely voluntary, however the permission form must be completed before your child can take part.
Cost: $5
Payments can be made at the school office or through internet banking. School account: 12-3059-0468912-01. Reference "Adventure Club" and your child's name.
*Times may vary depending on the activity.
The school will provide kayaks, paddles and lifejackets. Students will need to bring the following:
- Swimming togs
- Towel
- T-shirt that can get wet or Rash shirt or Wetsuit (if they have one)
- Reef shoes or trainers that can get wet
- Hat
- Sunblock
- Drink bottle
- Extra snacks
Once the groups have been confirmed, you will be notified of the date of your child's session the week leading up to the excursion. Please note, in case of bad weather sessions will be postponed to another date.
By filling in this form you are giving permission for your child to travel via private motor vehicle and participate in Adventure Club for Term 2.
