Become a Staff Council Representative
Are you a UA Classified Staff or University Staff employee?

Staff Council seeks to represent all staff. We are currently seeking representation from units that have no representation on Staff Council. In addition, we encourage applications from staff in any unit who identify as: male; non-binary; GenZ; people of color; and entry-level staff.

Nominate yourself to represent the constituents in your college or division on UArizona Staff Council (UASC). Representatives serve for an annual term (renewable) and are eligible to vote on issues and in elections. Representatives are eligible to participate in UASC events, UASC internal and external committees, and serve as elected officers.

Representatives are expected to communicate UASC topics back to their unit, and bring forward unit concerns to UASC (bi-directional communication) in order to ensure their unit's voices are heard in the shared governance process. Representatives can also participate by volunteering at events or joining a committee.

The minimum time commitment is approximately 2 hours per month (to attend general meetings and communicate with your unit). Representatives who join committees, serve as committee chairs, or serve as elected officers will spend 1-2 hours per week on UASC business depending on their role.
