The SSYRA Committee accepts suggestions of book titles to be considered for the SSYRA Jr. list. Books suggested between June 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024 will be considered for the 2024-2025 SSYRA lists. Suggested titles will be considered regardless of the number of times a title is nominated; suggesting a title more than once will not ensure its inclusion on the reading list or the SSYRA list.

 Books suggested for the SSYRA Jr. list must:

•             Be fiction;

•             Have an original copyright date of 2022, 2023, or 2024;

•             Be age-appropriate for grades K-2;

•             Be the first in a series (if it is part of a series);

•             Have literary merit and appeal to young readers;

•             Have received a favorable review in at least one of the professional reviewing publications. Examples included, but are not limited to: Booklist,  Hornbook, Kirkus, School Library Journal, etc.
