Children are clamoring for smartphones and their own social media accounts at younger and younger ages. In addition, children are able to communicate with friends (and strangers) via gaming consoles, internet-based computer games, and tablets. These platforms are tricky for adults to navigate, but for children, the likelihood of negative outcomes is even greater. Let's gather to talk about practices to put in place to protect elementary-age children from the social and emotional tolls of technological communication. Even if your child does not have access to technology at home, they may encounter it in their social circles. The more adults know, the better support we can be for our children.
Join Michael Jones, St. M's Director of Technology, Dr. Hilton and Mrs. Geier on Wednesday, March 1, 8:15 a.m. in the Lower School Library, as we discuss technology best practices for families.
