Wed., Oct. 20, 4-6 p.m., Massachusetts Ave. and 34th St., NW, in front of the Vice President’s residence at the US Naval Observatory. Join the Congregation Action Network, Faith in Action and other immigration justice partners for a faith-led vigil urging Vice President Kamala Harris to ignore the Senate Parliamentarian and allow a pathway to citizenship to be included in budget reconciliation. This action is the first time people will publicly pray together for VP Harris’ intervention. The event will include prayer and faith reflections, testimony from impacted immigrants and an act of civil disobedience to be determined (NOTE: Not all vigil attendees will take part in civil disobedience. Those who choose to do so should indicate that willingness on this form, and will be trained in advance for the action.) At least 200 clergy, faith leaders, people of faith, impacted individuals and allies are needed to attend the vigil. Those who sign up will receive details as they are updated.
