Online registration for the July 13th Syracuse Biathlon race has closed. Day of race entry will be available at the venue starting at 9am. Please contact info@syracusebiathlon.com with any questions before race day.

This is the 1st day of the Syracuse/Polar Bear Pursuit Challenge weekend. You may race in either or both days depending on your schedule. We kick the weekend off with a sprint format race on Saturday. Polar Bear (Old Forge) will hold the pursuit format the next day with start order based on Saturday's results. The top female & male, non-novice competitors over the two days are added to the historical series plaque in addition to a personal award. By participating in both events you will receive a $5 discount on your entry fee at the Old Forge race.

Beginners are welcome and we will hold a mandatory rifle safety/biathlon orientation session the morning of the event. Use of a rifle and necessary ammo are included in the entry fee.

Distances will be finalized the day before the race but are currently set as follows:

Novice (female & male) - 4km
Boy/Girl - 4km
All others - 5km

RACE DETAILS
The race is open to those 13 and older. First time participants must complete a mandatory rifle safety/biathlon orientation clinic held prior to the race (or attend the instructional clinic). The race will be held on the dirt trails of Pratt's Falls Park and will consist of uneven terrain and potentially slick conditions depending on the weather. Total distance will be in the 4-5km range depending on trail selection.

All competitors under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian present the morning of the clinic to sign the liability release form.

Age groups will be developed based on the registration we receive but will include a novice group, boy/girl (13 &14), some variation on open, master, grand master, etc.

Registration fee: (1) pre-registration: $20 age over 18, $15 18 or younger - pay when you check-in day of race
(2) day of registration: $25 age over 18, $20 18 or younger.
(3) Syracuse Biathlon Club members receive a $2 discount
*NOTE*: If you are not a member of USBA, there is a $10 'member for a day' fee that covers insurance.
All payments are due during the registration period the day of the event.

PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY July 11th AT 10:00PM. Any registration after that will be considered 'day of registration' (additional $5 entry fee).
